A Little About Me.
I’m a teenage girl who lives in the deep woods with her mother and brother. I love making stories, in any and all ways I think of. Whether it’s making goofball comics, drawing out one scene that tells a whole story and all the feelings swirling in it, taking pictures that tell beautiful tales within themselves, imagining intricate plot lines in my own head while I unload the dishwasher, or even writing a literal story; I can find and create stories everywhere.
Drawing- I’ve loved to draw ever since I was little. I regularly made outrageous pictures to show off to strangers. As I got older I felt like I was supposed to refine my craft and actually be good at drawing things more realistically and consistently. I took art classes and comic classes. I read books and went to museums. But I never felt determined or focused to perfect any styles besides my own scraggly sketches. So I gave up and decided to let myself make whatever I wanted without feeling like I was lacking skill. That focus that I took away from being worried about how perfect my stuff looked, gave me the opportunity to discover and play with new styles that are actually my new favorite type to draw these days. Which just goes to show that forgetting all of the “supposed to”s was the most perfect choice I could have made. I still let those feelings creep up on me sometimes when I mess up something or when admiring another artist’s simple but astounding work… But overall I still love getting to sit down and sketch something out in as little as an hour that still really shows a lot of my heart and soul in it. That’s just as satisfying as being able to draw a realistic still-life in my opinion.
I have lots of other interests, and hopefully you’ll get to have a taste of all that I love sometime in the future. But for now, since this site is only being used for my art so far, I will just leave you with that.
